Valentine Bean Bag Toss

Here's a great Valentine's Day idea!

We’re well aware that Fombags aren’t the only bean bags in the world. (Though they really should be!)  With that in mind, we’ve got a fun game for you to play with your kids around Valentine’s Day.  This is a simple game that you and the kids can make together, and then play together.

You’ll need:

Dried beans

Canvas fabric

Scissors

Large heart shaped cookie cutters

No-sew glue

A marker

In order to make the bean bags, you can have the kids use large cookie cutters to trace out shapes on the canvas fabric.  They can then cut out two of each shape.  Each child should make three bean bags.  Place the two heart shapes together and use the no-sew glue to stick them in place—be sure to leave a small opening so you can turn them inside out.  Once they’re inside out, pour the dried beans into the hole.  Tuck the edge in and use the no-sew glue to close them up.

Set up a target on the ground (preferably heart shaped!) and have the kids aim for it.  It’s a great Valentine’s Day game that everyone will enjoy.

When you’re done playing, you can kick back and relax in a Fombag! (We had to say it… After all, there’s no better way to end the day!)

Super Bowl Showdown

Live out your Super Bowl Dreams in a Fombag

We’re already getting pumped up for the Super Bowl.  Now that it’s down to the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, we can start looking at who has the upper hand heading into the big game.  (Just thought of this: between the two teams, we bet they’re really good at Packing Steel. Ha!)  Get yourself comfortable in a Fombag, because it’s going to be one heck of a Super Bowl.

In fact, we don’t think it would be a stretch to say that this Super Bowl might shape up to be one of the best in recent memory.  After all, we’ve got two of the league’s best quarterbacks going head to head (Toe to toe? Arm to arm?).  Aaron Rodgers of the Packers and Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers are sure to satisfy in this game.  We don’t think it’s going to be lopsided, boring, or a blowout.  Each team has some great players on the defensive side of the ball—and that’s just going to make this epic quarterback standoff more interesting.

This Super Bowl is going to be a really great chess game.  We think that the coaches are going to have a lot to do with it.  Either way, it’s going to be awesome.

We’re looking forward to plopping down in a Fombag with a huge plate of chicken wings and watching this epic clash of the titans from beginning to end.

Fombag Comfort Quotes

Get comfortable in a Fombag

There are few things more comfortable than sitting around in a Fombag.  We can’t come up with enough words to express how comfy and cozy these great bean bag chairs are.  That’s why we began searching for some quotes about comfort and making the most of your life.  We hope you enjoy them!  Sit back in your Fombag and think about comfort.

“We shall have no better conditions in the future if we are satisfied with all those which we have at present.” – Thomas Edison (So go out and get a Fombag if you don’t have one!)

“A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.” – Dennis Waitley (Don’t know what a Fombag will feel like?  We can send sample fabric swatches!)

“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.” – Mark Twain (Allow yourself to get a Fombag!)

“Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.” – Coco Chanel (Really, a woman after our own heart.)

“A woman is never sexier than when she is comfortable in her clothes.” – Vera Wang (Or her Fombag.)

“Swimming is normal for me. I’m relaxed. I’m comfortable, and I know my surroundings. It’s my home.” – Michael Phelps (He obviously hasn’t tried a Fombag, yet.)

Fombag for the Super Bowl

Are you ready for some football?  Now, we know a Fombag is a little too big to throw around like a football… but it’s certainly the ideal seat for game day!  If you plan on throwing a Super Bowl party, then you need to get moving.  You can worry about the pizza, chips, drinks, dip, and other snacks later.  If you want your party guests to be comfortable while they watch the Super Bowl, then you need to order your Fombag soon!

Kick off to comfort with a Fombag

We’re looking forward to Super Bowl XLV… after all, it’s being held in the new (and gorgeous, if we do say so) Cowboys Stadium in Texas.  And this stadium is quite the spectacle!  In fact, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is offering tickets to tour the facility in the 18 days surrounding the Super Bowl (Jan 24-Feb 10).  For forty dollars, you’ll get a 90 minute behind the scenes tour of Cowboys Stadium.  The tour includes a trolley ride and access to the players’ and cheerleaders’ locker rooms.  This is the largest domed stadium in the entire world.  This year marks the third time that the Super Bowl will be in Texas.

Now… we suppose this really begs the question:

What if the Super Bowl were held on a Fombag?

(Don’t answer that.  Just get yourself a Fombag so you can enjoy the Super Bowl in comfort!)

Breaking Records with Bean Bag Chairs

Here are some crazy world records that people have broken with bean bag chairs.  (They aren’t all Fombags… and we don’t suggest you try all of these at home, either!)

How many people could you fit?

  • The longest time to juggle three bean bag chairs is 31.03 seconds.  The record is held by Brian Pankey.
  • Brian Pankey also holds the record for the longest time spinning a bean bag chair on his fingertips.  He managed to do that for 37.90 seconds.  We wonder how long he could do it with a Fombag.  (Then again, why even try?  Fombags are too comfortable to do anything but relax in!)
  • Here’s one that we like!  Tahnee Atkinson (a competitor on Australia’s Next Top Model) snuggled with seven bunnies in a bean bag chair.  Unsurprisingly, she was chosen as the winner of the show four days later.  See what snuggling will get you?
  • The record for most people sitting on a bean bag chair at once is held by Peter Haik and eleven of his friends.  The only stipulation was that everyone’s backside had to be completely positioned on the bag.  Talk about a fun record!

Resolve to Relax in a Fombag

Make relaxation a part of your New Years Resolution for 2011!  Learning the right ways to relax and get rid of stress are important steps in creating a happier and healthier you.  You can relax all you want in a comfy Fombag!  But if you’re at work and away from your Fombag, there are other things you can do to help yourself relax.

Events that cause stress can be either positive or negative (think a promotion versus a car accident).  These events can also be major or minor, but your body reacts to stress in generally the same way.  Think of it as the “fight or flight response.”  It’s a biochemical reaction that occurs every time your body adapts to change.  If you’re chronically stressed, then this constant heightened physical state can lead to illness.

Practice some deep breathing in order to calm yourself down.  Lie on your back (if at all possible) and slowly breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.  Make sure you breathe deeply from the diaphragm.

You can also try meditation.  Sit in a comfortable position, and choose a mantra that you like and repeat it over and over.  While your thoughts wander, keep repeating the word.  If you feel like it becomes mechanical, try to refocus your awareness on the word you chose.

Resolve to calm down a bit this year.  Let your stress float away as you sit back in a Fombag.
